Pirate Comic Con 2026: A National Reading Month Celebration - Click to View

In celebration of National Reading Month, the Antilles High School Library Information Center, in collaboration with the Art and Music Departments, is proud to announce our first-ever Pirate Comic-Con!

Our event theme is "Storytelling through Art!" We are coming together to celebrate the power of Graphic Novels, Manga, and Comics, and to explore how stories come to life through visual art and music.

Event Details:

  • Dates: Monday, March 23 - Friday, March 27, 2026
    • Art Gallery, Book Display, Music Performance and Workshops: All Week
    • Comic Con Dress Up Day and Guest Speakers: Wednesday, March 25 
  • Location: AHS Library

Illustrator Challenge & Art Gallery Walk (See attached flyer for more details.)

The highlight of our celebration is the Illustrator Design Challenge. Student artists are invited to submit one (1) original character design or a unique "fan-art remix" of a classic character. Entry must include a 50+word backstory explaining the character's origins and powers.

Official entries must be submitted to Ms. Díaz in the Library by Wednesday, March 18. A panel of judges will select the grand prize winner!

Dress Up Day - Wednesday, March 25: To celebrate, students and staff are invited to dress as their favorite Graphic Novel, Comic, or Manga character! Please remember to follow DoDEA dress code and safety guidelines:

  • No masks or heavy face paint (identities must be visible).
  • No prop weapons of any kind.
  • Costumes must be school-appropriate.
